Naples Private Event | West Point Society Naples Founder’s Day

I have been working with the West Point Society Naples since last year and these are some of my favorite people! They are not only very kind, they are charismatic, and they are raising and educating some of the best students and citizens for our country through support for West Point Academy.

I have a soft spot for military, my older brother enlisting at age 18 and moving quickly through the ranks to E7 before age 30, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan more than 4 times during that war. I highly respect and greatly thank all of our military’s sacrifices to our country. So you bet it was a treat to photograph alumni, veterans and heroes local to my area.

The Founder’s Day event is a chance for new candidates to meet and network with Alumni from West Point Academy. It’s a wonderful event hosted at Grey Oaks Country Club each year. Enjoy some of my favorites from this event.

I’m really looking forward to continuing this relationship with this group into 2020!

Emotion-Packed Philadelphia Indian Wedding / #shekitforsanghvi / Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue

Where do I BEGIN on Sagar and Roshni’s Indian wedding?! I met Sagar and Roshni through a photographer recommendation (Thanks Charmi!) and we hit it off really well! Every trip I came to NYC leading up to their wedding, we met up, hung out, and discussed every minute detail of their day. This was a big deal – both first of their families to be married, Sagar being the first and only son, Roshni, being the beloved youngest daughter. I have never experienced so much outpouring of love for two people as I have on this day in July.

My love for Indian weddings deepens each and every new wedding I shoot – from all the cultural meaning that goes into each ceremony leading up to the wedding day, all the little details have a deep rooted cultural meaning, and the pride, love and abundance of emotions just GETS ME EVERY TIME. I have not laugh cried as many times as I have at Indian weddings – and let me tell you they can PARTY.

Bespoke Menswear Fashion Shoot with Elevee Naples

My obsession with fashion began in 2012 when I started my photographic career as Marissa Collections’ first full time in-house photographer. I was obsessed with fabrics, furs, shoes, bags, accessories, and above all – jewelry. After I left to start Zee Anna, I met Rickey from Elevee, and that’s when I learned about the world of bespoke menswear. There is an art to dressing a man – from which fabrics work best with the cut of suit, or if it’s appropriate for the weather, if the patterns will clash, and not to be afraid to mix it up! My knowledge with menswear grew with each year we collaborated together to create beautiful work to showcase the creativity of each stylist. You pick up a few things when you spend some time dressing men. As Rickey says – Love a Well Dressed Man and some of my favorite pieces on Kerry have come from Rickey’s mind. Enjoy some of my favorite photographs that I had the pleasure to create with Tom Ernsting and Eric Bohus from Protocol Models, Rickey Lamitie and Gaylene Solomon on one of the last shoots we had in 2018!

Arden at Koreshan State Park / Senior Portraits

I ran into Tracy, Arden’s mother while we were on the search for our new studio location (NEWS ALERT! A new post will address that good news soon!) and she told me so much about what a great person Arden has become. She’s not only beautiful, she has a kind soul and easy-going personality. Arden and her best pup friend, Kai, were so great together and I wish them the best on her next adventure at Full Sail University!

Arden loves the feeling of Koreshan, and I could not agree more with it’s old Florida feel. I shoot quite a bit at Koreshan, but each time I find new areas to explore with my clients and that’s what keeps it exciting for all of us.

Stay tune for what we created together for Arden that her mother sent over to me the other day!

I about DIED from excitement and an immense sense of pride when Tracy sent these photos over. OMG like Arden’s 20″x30″ print fit so nicely in her already existing 36″x48″ matted frame. She is going to LOVE seeing this every day as a reminder of her daughter while she is off to school.

Here is the print she ordered when it arrived to our space – I was already OBSESSED. I am so thrilled when our clients find the right artwork to be enjoyed in their home – whether it is albums or wall art. A physical reminder everyday that anchors for you what matters most should be celebrated.

So happy for Arden and Tracy and can’t wait to see their family again!

Courtney + Charlie Get Married at La Playa Beach & Golf Resort

Friends, I can’t wait to tell you the story of Courtney and Charlie.

It was a family affair with lots of sentimental details and touches of love, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Nicole, Courtney’s ultra talented sister did all the styling, florals and most of the day coordination. She was a rockstar and lending her talents (She’s a killer wedding stylist out of L.A.) and sharing her love for her sister, really kept things relaxed for Courtney and Charlie. They had a really simple morning ceremony and brunch reception at LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort. Of course, because it was a morning wedding and Charlie LOVES sunsets, we met up later in the day for just some portraits of them.

National Museum of Women in Art Wedding, Washington DC | Gabriella + Luke

Words cannot describe how much fun I have shooting with my “work husband” in DC. Mantas Kubilinskas (mantasphoto.com) and I work like a well-oiled machine, constantly inspiring each other to push our creatively boundaries for his clients, Gabriella and Luke. I can’t wait to be back in the Capitol in May and August this year. It’s going to be a wild and crazy wedding season for us, with lots of new things to happen.

As for Gabriella and Luke, college sweethearts, being together for 10 years, building up each other’s careers and continuing to support each other in life and love – that’s inspiring. Just like Gabriella said that long ago night in a parking lot after a college party: Those that pee together, stay together <3

Congratulations Gabriella + Luke! May you both enjoy a lovely life of happiness and excitement!

Fairfax and DC Elopement | Rihanna + Spencer

I had a lovely time in DC with fellow photographer Mantas Kubilinskas and loved shooting along side him on his sessions and weddings. I was able to meet with one of his clients, Rihanna and Spencer and we spent a lovely 2 hours chasing light and locations in the Alexandria/Fairfax area. Shooting with other photographers are great, not only did we each challenge each other creatively to give the best results for our clients, but there was ongoing sparks of inspiration and it only benefited our subjects. Sightseeing and Engaged Couples in DC | Audi + Trish

I was invited to shoot alongside Ken Pak Photography, currently one of the best photographers in Washington, DC, and it was super fun and such an enlightening experience! I had a blast with Audi and Trish, college sweethearts, both lawyers, and both just recently moved to Washington. They wanted “Washington DC” and Ken was amazing and took us all to at least 4 different museums, monuments or memorials (National Gallery of Art, Washington Monument, Franklin D Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr, World War II Memorial, there were so many places I was a bit overwhelmed – haha!). I had a blast chasing light with them and learning from some of the best in my industry. Thank you Ken for letting me join you and your clients! Enjoy their images below.

I’m in Love with Washington DC | Ruth + Jonathan

I’M DEAD. I never want to leave DC.

I’m sure after a few weeks of being away I’ll be relieved to be home in sunny Southwest Florida, but for now I’m loving the gorgeous fall light and cooler weather. I’m also truly in love and obsessed with Ruth and Jonathan!

Jonathan and Ruth are wedding photographers in DC who were down to let me do whatever I wanted, so we chased the light and went to three amazing locations – Lincoln Memorial, Meridian Hill Park, and The Navy Yard. I’m pretty sure you’ll see me more and more in the DC area – I can’t get enough of this place!

Naples Wedding Proposal | Josh + Kimberly

I get pretty emotional when I recount and look over all the photos from proposals I have been asked to photograph. The play of emotions is evident – from shock, to joy, to crying, to thinking that you ugly cry, to wanting to see the ring, to wanting to only hug each other and take in the moment, etc… and as an emotional person myself, I just love reliving that day for these couples. Proposals have always been fun and risky for me. Outside of trying to keep well-meaning busybodies from trying to “help” capture the moment (I’m looking at you tourist man who got in almost all of my frames), you have to act really nonchalant or like you’re busy doing something else so as not to let the person being proposed to even KNOW that you’re actually shooting them. Which I must do really well for other people to assume I wasn’t hired to shoot the proposal. Once it’s known that I was hired (usually after I’ve hugged the couple and the proposer introduces me to the proposee (I think I just made up those words)) we move into a super cute and easy portrait shoot. Then voila! – you have a gorgeous gallery of one of the best memories of your life.

Josh and I have been closely working together for the month leading up to his proposal to Kimberly, and all of our doubts and fears were for nothing when Kimberly finally said YES! I can’t even begin to tell you how these two amazing people deserve each other. They have been together for over 7 years and it was one of the most emotional proposals I have ever had the opportunity to capture. Thank you Kimberly and Josh for inviting me to celebrate your engagement with you and your friends and family!

Just wanted to extend a huge thank you for all the great work. The photos are breathtaking and literally blew away my expectations. Your talent is well shown in our collection and both of us couldn’t be happier you were there to help capture the moment. Thank you so much for everything including helping me out of a panic lol.
